This design is based off of today discussion ‣.

We mostly agreed on the following:

• Leagues should be tied to portfolio value + activity (not profit/skill)
• Leagues occur in cycles with some sort of reset in between to provide a deadline and opportunity to re-engage.
• Be grouped with people similar to you (probably based on portfolio value)
• Rewards - Badge showing your current league next to your name everywhere

Things not really decided yet:

• Can people promote/demote within a cycle or are u just competing within your group and when it resets the promotion/demotions happen? (duolingo vs gaming system)

• What is the best way to measure intra-cycle progress? Portfolio value 1:1 to your league? Points that are heavily correlated to portfolio value? Some complicated mmr system that gives profit more weight? How does donating + buying mana affect this?

• How do we put new/returning users into leagues who haven’t been active during previous cycles

• Do investments made from previous cycles which resolve and cause a big jump in portfolio value count towards the current cycle?

• How long should each cycle last?

Format

• Bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond system (tbd exactly how many divisions of leagues there should be)
• Quarterly seasons. Every 3 months the season resets.
