Clicked about, wanted a bit more than a condensed one sentence. Was basically the first thing he did after very quickly skimming through some of the market titles.

• Wants to know what the site is offering as a service to him. Play money betting platofrm not informative enough.
• Expected clicking the “what is prediction market” and other buttons to stay on the same page and be a drop-down providing a couple of paragraphs of explanation.
  • Annoyed at opening a new site unexpectedly. Bright white and not consistent design with main site.
  • Bombarded with information. Good and bad.
  • Useless that the two links take you to the same page just scrolled slightly further down.
  • About page had no visual cues. Only youtube video which he expected to play embedded but took to a new tab.
• Links on stay connected (eg. Twitter, newsletter, discord) are not opening in a new tab. Instead opens in the same tab and replaces Manifold.
• Hes on the about page but just seeing a bunch if things like referrals and manalinks. But there is nothing telling him what they are actually about.
• Spent a long time clicking everything in the about page clicking everything. Was confused at Salem center
  • Doesnt get the point of graveyard. Developers section felt like too much and nothing he would click on.
• Looked at leaderboard. Marcus has $7,000. Initial thought is that it's just sitting around and cant do much with it except bet more.

News tabs

• Tabs very unorganised.
• All articles should be the defsult tab so can see all the options and browse through more topics and media.
• I guess organised by popularity?
• Something that explains what it is for people not familiar with the context of the tab.

More thoughts

Really felt there needed to be a why somewhere prominently. Why should a new user want to use the site?

• We have a ‘what’ - bet on markets
• But for him this ‘what’ does not evidently = why
