Summary
Critical Issues
- Thought the number above the graph represented the liquidity
- later saw the 2 values, volume and liquidity, realised that he didn’t actually understand what the volume number meant although now understood what the true value for liquidity was
- Later grasped the idea of volume once seeing you can sell shares
- Important to know conversion rate between M$ and usd
- it currently does say ur starting amount is M$1000 = 10usd but even after skimming over it he forgot
- only realised at the very end when trying to buy more M$ what the rates were
- Free market makes the maths/probabilities extra confusing
- Don’t realise there is an initial liquidity of M$100
- Adding new answers to free response markets is daunting and new users aren’t betting because
- “No one has made any bets yet so I’m not going to get good odds”
- Upon explaining the initial liquidity incentive: “Isn’t there a huge incentive to put a small bet and snap up the shares from the 100 liquidity”
Other Issues
- Explore page filters reset when changing between categories
- (upon futher inspection seems like clicking on a market then navigating back also resets the filter but not the sort)
- Typing in search for markets keeps you under the selected tag which wasn’t noticed.
