We expect market creators to decide on the correct resolution and resolve their markets accordingly.
- Once resolution criteria are met users are expected to resolve their market promptly.
- Market creators typically have the final say on what the resolution is, however:
- Manifold or moderators may resolve a market on your behalf if unambiguous resolution criteria are fulfilled. This could include un-resolving a blatantly incorrect resolution made by the creator.
- Manifold reserves the right to re-resolve any market if we believe they were resolved fraudulently, including markets created prior to this policy coming into effect.
- If a market resolution has some ambiguity and there is dispute over the correct resolution, the creator will have the final say. However, we usually recommend an N/A resolution under these circumstances, especially if the ambiguity is at the fault of the creator.
- Moderators may resolve your market on your behalf if you have been inactive and unambiguous criteria have been met.
- Creators have 1 hour to un-resolve and re-resolve their market in cases of a mistake. Taking advantage of this in any way may result in a fine or a ban. If this period has passed and they believe their market should be re-resolved, they may contact an admin or moderator.
In some cases, we allow moderators to resolve markets, for instance if a user is inactive. See the Resolving/clarifying markets mod guidelines for details on the exact rules and process
