Fulltime person to build a thriving scene for AI safety in SF
Traits we’re seeking
- Excellent understanding of the SF AIS social scene, as well as adjacent networks
- Hosts killer events
- Fairly good technical sense & understanding of AIS idea landscape
- “superconnector” (but like, not in a lame way)
Example projects
- Spin up monthly (or weekly?) happy hours for SF labs + Berkeley safety
- Also just “making events happen”
- Social events ala Tristan Hume’s parties, Joel Becker’s karaoke, Rach’s bday
- Digital community
- Forum (like Lesswrong/AI Alignment Forum)?
- Chat (Slack, Discord)?
- CRM to understand people’s needs & wants
- Fieldbuilding (?)
- Hackathons
- Incubator, fellowship, residents
