Idea: Instead of Leagues, Manifold Politics has a single tournament on the ‘24 elections with a USD prize pool.

• tournament will only include official Manifold Politics markets for this upcoming election
  • probably only markets that will be resolved by election day (ie no markets on future growth rates under Biden, etc.)
  • no user-created markets
  • moderator/trustworthy markets should be OK
• winners: top 25 or so traders on the leaderboard earn their pro rata share of the prize pool according to their total profit
  • similar to the structure we used previously for midterms
  • prize pool should be much larger: $10k - $25k
  • might want to penalize variance somehow
• implementation: put all the markets for the tournament in a topic (”Manifold Politics US 2024 elections”) and use the leaderboard (already built) to determine winners
• payments
  • handling the payouts for previous tournaments was a nightmare
  • we should specify that only payment methods easy for us will be used (domestic wire, ACH, venmo). NO paypal, SWIFT, crypto.
